Desh Bhagat Group of Institutes was established in 1972, the institution received the University status in 1996. Situated in Punjab’s Fatehgarh Sahib District, DBU- Desh Bhagat University is a state private university established under Punjab Government Desh Bhagat University Act, 2012. The University also operates its campuses in Moga, Chandigarh, Shri Muktsar Sahib and Kenya.

DBU is approved by the UGC- University Grants Commission, the PCI- Pharmacy Council of India, the BCI- Bar Council of India, the PNRC- Punjab Nurses Registration Council, the INC- Indian Nursing Council and the CCIM- Central Council for Indian Medicine among others. The university offers more than 256 professional programmes across 50 streams at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels with more than 400 faculty members. DBU offers specialisations in faculties, including Applied Sciences, Management, Education, Commerce, Agriculture, Animation, Fashion Technology, Tourism, Law, Hotel Management, Performing Arts, Nursing, Physical Education and Social Sciences. The university has 19 schools under it which provides education in various disciplines like Engineering, Management, Humanities, Pharmacy, Arts and many more.
