University Of Petroleum And Energy Studies, Dehradun popularly known as UPES Dehradun was established in the year 2003 by the UPES Act of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand. UPES is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The university is accredited by NAAC with a Grade ‘A’. UPES has 2 campuses in Dehradun, namely UPES Bidholi and UPES Kandoli. As per NIRF 2023 Rankings, UPES ranked 52nd University in India 39th for the School of Business and 54th for the School of Engineering.
UPES offers 80+ programs with 200+ specializations at UG & PG levels through its seven schools. UPES Admission is done based on valid scores in entrance examinations. At the university level, UPES accepts UPESEAT, ULSAT, UPESMET-UG, UPESDAT & UPESPAT for various courses. The university also accepts national-level entrance examination scores like JEE-Main / CAT/ XAT/ MAT/ CUET/ UGAT. UPES B.Tech is the flagship program offered in various specializations. Selection to the B.Tech program is based on JEE Main or UPESEAT conducted by the university. The university’s MBA course is also quite popular. Admission to the UPES MBA program is based on CAT/XAT/MAT/UPESMET.
UPES Dehradun Placement 2024 is ongoing. As per the latest statistics, UPES highest package 2024 stands at INR 33 LPA. UPES Dehradun average package is INR 7.02 LPA. Recruiters like Amazon, ONGC, Adani, Goorej, Maruti Suzuki, Boeing, Microsoft India etc participated in the placement drive. The university has had 90%+ placements over the last few years. According to Stanford University list, 41 faculty members of UPES are among the world’s top 2% of researchers. Apart from this, UPES has collaborated with several organizations and international universities for industrial and academic activities.
